A Message from the Organizing Committee of ICP2016

To all those around the world who have expressed their concern and support in reaction to the recent disasters that have befallen Japan, please accept our heart-felt gratitude. We are shocked and saddened by the loss of life and suffering of the victims, and offer our sincerest condolences to those who have lost loved ones, including our colleagues and their families.

It is a welcome comfort to know that people in other countries sympathize with our plight. These catastrophes will likely challenge residents of Japan beyond anything most have experienced in their lifetimes. However, we hope that some unique societal characteristics will help our nation deal with difficulties that may now seem overwhelming, and eventually overcome them.

All Japanese psychologists desire to offer all possible assistance in this crisis. Especially, many practitioners will likely be called upon to help address the health problems caused by the disasters.
